According to the official notice issued by the Bihar Education Department (dated 30 January 2026), the timeline for the online admission process has been extended to ensure maximum participation of eligible students. Revised Schedule is given below:

What is the RTE 25% Admission Scheme?

Under the RTE Act, private schools must reserve 25% of entry-level seats for:

Economically weaker sections (EWS)
Disadvantaged groups
Orphan children

Admissions will be conducted online through the Gyandeep portal for the 2026–27 academic session.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Disadvantaged Groups

Children belonging to the following categories are eligible:

Scheduled Castes (SC)
Scheduled Tribes (ST)
Backward Classes (including Extremely Backward Classes)
Minority communities

👉 Annual family income must be up to ₹1,00,000.

  1. Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
    Children from any caste/community
    Family income must be less than ₹2,00,000 per year
  2. Orphan Children
    Children without parents are also eligible under this scheme
  3. Age Criteria
    The child must be 6+ years as of 1 April 2026
    Eligible birth date range: 2 April 2018 to 1 April 2020
    Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

Birth certificate / hospital record / Anganwadi record
Caste certificate (if applicable)
Income certificate (not required for orphan children)
Residence proof (Domicile certificate, Aadhaar, voter ID, etc.)
Aadhaar card (child & parent/guardian)
Passport-size photograph (50 KB)
Mobile number for registration

👉 For orphan children, a certificate from the concerned institution is required.

    Mobile number is required for login and communication
  2. Form Submission
    Fill the application form using the provided USER ID
    Upload required documents
  3. Aadhaar Requirement
    Parent/guardian Aadhaar is mandatory
    Child Aadhaar can be submitted later (within 3 months of admission)

School Selection Process

Parents can choose schools within their block/area
A maximum of 5 nearby schools can be selected
Priority is given based on distance:

Within 1 km Highest
1–3 km Second
3–6 km Third

Seat Allotment (Randomization)
